Well, this is what may become the new, revitalized scaredpoet.com. As of this writing, everything is still in its infancy. I think the first order of business will be to migrate all of my LiveJournal postings to this site, which may prove to be tedious. Maybe it?ll happen, maybe it won?t. I?ve just felt somewhat uncomfortable about keeping all my stuff there without any sort of a backup.

In the meantime, please bear with me. There might be some occasional instability, as I tweak a few things and may have to reboot the server from time to time. If the site becomes inaccessible, it should come right back in just a minute or so.

For those who are interested in scaredpoet.com’s history, a brief timeline follows below the tag:

1995 – 2000: It sucked. It just sucked. Remember the days when “under construction” logos, annoying animated gifs and arcane urls like http://boggleywoofblah.randumuniversity.edu/~studentab4569104puke were tres cool? Well, that was my site. Not that this fine piece of poignant prose is much better, but the old site was bad. It’s still up on the web, much to my horror, in an account that I’ve long lost the password to and therefore cannot change or take down, guarded by a sysadmin who insists on archiving everything. If you know the url, then you’ve seen the site and I pity you. If you don’t know the url, I shall spare you the horror.

2000-2004: Mainly nonexistent. I was trying to create custom dynamic pages using coldfusion. Four years, and I could never get it right. Yup, I am teh suck.

June 7, 2004: I got fed up, trashed everything on my old server and threw on apache, php and Mysql, and fired up wordpress. In four hours, this site was up and running. Can you tell?
